  15. An outbreak of a new virus has just been reported.  Here are the details:

  17. The new virus is attacks the Desktop file on all disks.  It inserts a WDEF=0
  18. resource on your disk. Since there is supposed to be no such resource in the
  19. desktop file, it is very easy to detect and remove.  Either rebuild the desktop
  20. when you boot the volume (before it accesses the window resource...) or delete
  21. it with ResEdit while running under the Finder (not MultiFinder).  Please boot
  22. from a clean, locked floppy.

  24. This virus is VERY EASILY SPREAD.  Inserting a disk is ALL IT TAKES, so this
  25. puppy will spread very fast.  Disenfectant 1.4, Virus Rx 1.6, and SAM 1.3 will
  26. all catch this virus, but they aren't out yet.  Virus Detective and Gate Keeper
  27. are configurable so you can use those right away.

  29. This virus has been detected in Belgium, U of Texas, Northwestern U., and
  30. Stanford.  Let's get the word out fast!
